What do you mean with It can not handle this models?
That you can not import the obj files?

Exactly...!
They open fine in the official release of KT2007, but not in the latest beta... :? (ver. 1.4.2-B5)

Everything looks fine but it always stops at 99% - and it will remain there... :?

Already sent an e-mail with a link enabling you to download the file/model... ;)

Please note that it's not just this model - it's all the models from the Arch31 library from Evermotion... :?

try using the 3ds files and not the .obj
It should work...
Note that all the polygons might be separated a bit everywhere in the sreen....it's a current bug.

Nevertheless, it must be a bug, Alex, since you're able to import the OBJ-files to the official version of KT2007 but not to the beta... ;)

It's really nice to see how effecient this kind of sharing/reporting bugs is... :D

BTW - when are you going to come up with next beta for testing..??
(I know I didn't participate a lot during the past betas, but I will do when next beta is comming... :D)

i was quite lazy last weeks, but more or less have fixed all reported
bugs except networking (that I still haven't done proper testing).

now is the time to send me any scenes containing bugs! ;)

in the meantime, I started "internationalization" of KT, and that's
a long process since I want it to be flexible.

expect next beta in around one week.

Now that we have the archexterior models to test.. I hope we can all come up with some "missing" feature in KT that are more or less important to achive the VRAY look.

One of the think that impress me a lot about VRAY is sharpness. So it might be due to the Catmull-R filter or some luminance sharpening.

Other aspect is the light flow.. perhaps the light falloff method helps a lot.

Quasi MonteCarlo method might also contributer for better stratification.

Fuzzy or blurry refection interpolation for faster and better looking reflection.

This are the main feature that I belive contribute to the quality of VRAY.
Kray is the render engine that is comming dangerously close to the VRAY look. Altough It is more buggy.

One trick that is being used in VRAY is to place area light on the windows, for interior render. This help a lot since we have have many direct rays contribuiting to the lighting rather that indirect light from just the sampling of the sky. Implementing Light portals in KT will achive this or better effect.

Hi all,

Ok i finally got the AE3.

This is very good .. but here comes the first problem.

vray seems to use vray meshes ... they are added to the scene
by stating the filename and position maybe also scale and rotation. So far i have no idea how to access them.
And it's a binary format :(.

It would be fairly easy to add something like that to the
KT exporter but then KT would have to be able to include
external meshes in the xml and load them from a seperate file.
First we will have to access the vrmesh somehow.
So maybe some of you codegoods could have a peek .. ;)

Ok now that i have the weekend i will convert a scene without
vrmesh and will make it available.

cheers

Gregor ;)

:( it seems that the scattered problem also applies to the
scene clipi sent me. I seriously have to track this
stupid bug down.

I just contacted dave baker the coder of max2sunflow
and hopfully he will have some hints or even share his code with me.

let's hope... ;)

cheers
