Would someone please explain to me when "/", "\", "./", and ".\" are appropriate when specifying paths in Kerkythea scripts?

The tutorial here is not very clear:

The safest way to go is to always use forward slashes, i.e. "/" or "./".

Now, if you are changing a message in the script, then you will want to use "./" when trying to access an object in the scene. So, it goes like "./Scenes/MyScene/etc.".

Thanks! So does ./ only refer to inside the currently opened scene? With merging two scenes I would only use absolute paths, correct?
